How to Treat Others

Sometimes it is easy to be nice to other people. Unfortunately, there are also times when it is difficult to be kind to others. God knows this and so He gave us some directions on how we should treat each other. In fact, He gave us those directions more than one hundred times. Read the following, meditate on these commands, and let them help you know how you should treat others.

  1. Live in peace with each other – Mark 9:50; 1st Thessalonians 5:15

  2. Love each other – John 13:34; 15:12; 15:17; Hebrews 13:1

  3. Delight in honoring each other – Romans 12:10

  4. Live in complete harmony with each other – Romans 12:16; 15:5

  5. Build each other up – Romans 14:19; 1st Thessalonians 5:11; Jude 1:20

  6. Accept each other – Romans 15:7

  7. Be an encouragement to each other – Romans 15:32; 1st Thessalonians 4:18

  8. Greet each other – Romans 16:16; 1st Corinthians 16:20; 1st Peter 5:14

  9. Wait for each other – 1st Corinthians 11:34

  10. Help each other – 1st Corinthians 12:7

  11. Care for each other – 1st Corinthians 12:25

  12. Be patient with each other – Ephesians 4:2

  13. Make allowance for each other’s faults – Ephesians 4:2

  14. Be kind to each other – Ephesians 4:32

  15. Forgive each other – Ephesians 4:32

  16. Submit to each other – Ephesians 5:21

  17. Be truthful with each other – Colossians 3:9

  18. Teach each other – Colossians 3:16

  19. Warn each other – Hebrews 3:13

  20. Motivate each other – Hebrews 10:24

  21. Look after each other – Hebrews 12:15

  22. Pray for each other – James 5:16

  23. Sympathize with each other – 1st Peter 1:22

  24. Use your gifts to serve each other – 1st Peter 4:10

  25. Be humble toward each other – 1st Peter 5:5

  26. Fellowship with each other – 1st John 1:7

If that is not enough, along with the commands as to how we are to treat each other, God includes some commands as to how we are not to treat each other. Check yourself against the following;

  1. Don’t kill each other – Exodus 20:13

  2. Don’t cheat on each other – Exodus 20:14

  3. Don’t steal from each other – Exodus 20:15

  4. Don’t lie about each other – Exodus 20:16
